Three drug traders nabbed as joint PDEA, PNP operatives dismantle drug den in Nueva Vizcaya


NUEVA VIZCAYA – Three drug personalities were arrested by joint operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Unit-Nueva Vizcaya, PDEA Cordillera Ifugao and Bayombong police on Monday, July 25.

The authorities carried out a raid around 8:58 p.m. in Brgy. Magsaysay, Bayombong after days of monitoring the suspects’ movement in their illegal drug trade.

The PDEA operatives identified the suspects as Charles Medestomas, 33; John Gandeza, 27, and Dexter Gandeza, 25, all residents of Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya.

“Naitimbre na mga yan bago pa nahuli at nakakaperwisyo na rin sila sa mga kabarangay nila,” a PDEA agent said.

Found from the suspects were eight pieces of plastic sachets containing shabu; four small transparent plastic sachets containing dried marijuana leaves, stalks and fruiting tops weighing 15 grams; big resealable plastic sachet containing 175 grams of dried marijuana leaves; assorted drug paraphernalia and a motorcycle.

The suspects will be facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2022.

Last week, through the ‘Isumbong Mo Kay Wilkins (IMKW)’ tip led to the arrest of a drug personality in a buy-bust in Aparri, Cagayan.

Elements of PDEA Regional Office II arrested Jefferson Cabanglan, 35, a resident of Centro 9, Aparri, Cagayan.

The PDEA agents confiscated from him a small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing five grams of shabu, buy-bust money and a tricycle.
