Zamboanga City 2nd district Rep. Mannix Dalipe has committed to "work hard and serve with integrity and dedication" as the majority leader of the fledgling 19th Congress.
"I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation to the honorable members of the 19th Congress especially to our Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez for the trust and confidence bestowed on me as the majority leader of the House of Representatives," Dalipe said Monday, July 25 after he was elected the majority leader.
"True to our commitment of steering forward the priority legislative agenda of President Bongbong Marcos Jr. in the House of Representatives, I vow to work hard and serve with integrity and dedication this august chamber while at the same time, I guarantee that under the leadership of Speaker Romualdez, various concerns of our distinguished House Members are heard and provided with answers without delay," he added.
The majority leader is essentially the right-hand man of the House Speaker. Dalipe will serve as the shepherd of the super majority bloc, among other vital tasks.
"And as we build and strengthen consensus among political parties in the majority bloc, we will also ensure that the House of Representatives will fulfill the legislative and unity agenda of President Bongbong Marcos and Vice President Sara Duterte and we look forward for a very productive and collaborative partnership between the executive and legislative," he further said.
