Southern Luzon, Bicol, Visayas to have scattered rains due to LPA

The low pressure area (LPA) east of Luzon will continue to bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over parts of Southern Luzon, Bicol Region, and Visayas in the next 24 hours, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Tuesday morning, July 26.
PAGASA said the LPA was last spotted 190 kilometers (km) north-northeast of Virac, Catanduanes or 340 km east of Infanta, Quezon.
It is expected to bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan, Albay, Catanduanes, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Sorsogon, Masbate, and Visayas.
PAGASA advised these areas to stay vigilant as “moderate to at times heavy rains” may trigger flash floods or landslides.
Meanwhile, the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
PAGASA also warned against flash floods or landslides that may occur during severe thunderstorms, which are often accompanied by sudden heavy rains, lightning, thunder, gusty winds, and sometimes hail.
