With ONE Championship ready to take the United States and Canada by storm with its groundbreaking partnership with Amazon, reigning ONE Flyweight World Champion Adriano “Mikinho” Moraes knows he’s due for another stellar year.

The Brazilian star will headline ONE Fight Night 1: Moraes vs. Johnson II in U.S. primetime on August 26 (27th PH time) when he defends his World Title against legendary Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson.

Moraes is excited that more people out West will have access to ONE shows through Amazon, and he promises not to disappoint.

“I believe this partnership between ONE and Prime Video will be fantastic for MMA fans and everyone who loves martial arts. And for me, it will be an honor to the main event on the first Prime Video broadcast. I am very grateful once again,” Moraes told ONEFC.com.

While he’s been strutting his wares in The Home of Martial Arts for years now, Moraes actually resides in the U.S. while training with the famous American Top Team squad in Florida.

With their fights now on the popular streaming and video-on-demand platform, “Mikihno” expects more love from the U.S. MMA fan base, which isn’t be surprising considering he’s still the only person to finish Johnson in the all-time great’s MMA career.

“I have been an ATT athlete for seven years. I have lived in the United States for seven years. It is already my second home. They welcomed me very well here, and I have a lot of fans here in America,” he said.

“I’m a very disciplined MMA and jiu-jitsu athlete, and that’s why I believe I can be the new face of MMA in the United States. I am always waiting for new opportunities, and I always ask God to show me the way. If that’s His will, I’ll take it, for sure.”

After knocking out Johnson in their initial meeting, the 33-year-old looks to do it again, but this time he wants to pull off something that’s never been done to the pride of Madisonville, Kentucky – he wants to make him tap.

“Demetrious Johnson is a very smart guy, very tough, and I know he’s coming in very hungry for this rematch,” he said.

“I’m training a lot. I want to show my evolution as an athlete, so I believe I can get a submission in the fourth round.”
