Police withheld the name of the 16-year old subject who was staying at the house of his uncle.

The teenager was one of the 33 drug personalities arrested by the police in this city and in Negros Occidental.

Police Lt. Joven Mogato, head of City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU), said the minor was previously arrested for a drug offense but was able to escape from a facility of children in conflict with the law in February 2021.

Although minor, the arrested drug pusher is considered a high value individual as more than 50 grams of illegal drugs were confiscated from him, according to Mogato.

Police also recovered from him the P1,000 marked money, and P220.

Mogato said that some of the teenager’s relatives were also previously arrested for a drug offense.

Mogato said they subjected him to a three-day monitoring after they received information regarding the boy’s alleged illegal drugs trade in the village.

As to the source of the illegal drugs, Mogato said they already have a lead, but refused to elaborate further, as it is a subject of their follow-up operation.

In a separate buy-bust here conducted from July 19 to July 24, police arrested five drug pushers and seized from them P203,320 worth of shabu.

In Negros Occidental, police nabbed 27 drug personalities who yielded an undetermined amount of shabu with a combined value of P649,976 in buy-bust operations from July 18 to July 24.
