Showbiz mourns passing of comedian Caloy 'Ogag' Alde

Comedian Caloy "Ogag" Alde has passed away. He was 60.

Many in the entertainment world extended their condolences via social media.

Actor Alwyn Uytingco wrote on Facebook: "'I love nature.' Ang joke mo na di ko malilimutan. Salamat, kuya Caloy Carlos Alde."

Singer-songwriter Raffy Calicdan also penned an appreciation post.

"Isa sa pinaka-tinitingala ko sa entertainment industry, walang tulad ang comedy mo, isang karangalang makatrabaho ang isang katulad mo kuya Caloy, Carlos Alde aka OGAG ng Pinas!!," he said. "Maraming salamat sa mga masayang ala-alang nabigay mo sa aming lahat! Isa kang alamat!!! Rest in Peace kuya Caloyski!!!"

A former creative writer at GMA Network, Jay Sario, wrote, "Nakakalungkot na unti lang nakakaalam ng pagkamatay mo kahit maraming tao ang iyong pinatawa. Salamat sa lahat ng halakhak Caloy. Ang nagiisang Ogag ng Pinas. Rest in Peace Carlos Alde."

Program Manager at Cignal TV Cha Cunanan did the same too.

It read: "#RIP Kuya Caloy Carlos Alde... wala ng sisigaw ng tape rolling, sabay pagulong ng masking tape... Wala na din pustiso na itatago ni Kuya Long... Wala na ka-jamming si Empoy sa pag nap... Condolences to the whole Alde family... #Ogag #LokoMoko #TropaMoko."

On his personal Facebook page, Caloy expressed gratitude to Mike "Pekto" Nacua for visiting him last March.

Recall that in 2020, comedian Gene Padilla, brother of Dennis Padilla, shared Caloy's medical condition in an interview.

“As per his wife Rhoda, minanas na si Caloy dahil sa enlargement of the heart at may tubig siya sa lungs. Baka i-dialysis din siya dahil hindi maganda ang lagay ng kidney niya,” he was quoted as saying by PEP.ph.

On the other hand, Caloy also uploaded some old photos from his previous work.

One shows him with Ian Veneracion, another with Lito Lapid.

Dubbed as “Mr. Bean of the Philippines,” Caloy did different movies and TV series like "No Read, No Write," "Sgt. Larry Layar," "Ogag the TV show," and "Tropang Trumpo," to name a few.
