The Las Piñas City government launched the Chest X-Ray on Wheels as part of Mayor Imelda Aguilar’s “Tuloy Tuloy na Serbisyo sa Pangkalusugan” for the residents.
The Chest X-Ray on Wheels will go around the city’s 20 barangays to give residents free X-ray procedures. It has already served about 1,300 Las Piñeros.
Aguilar said the project was launched by the City Health Office (CHO) in coordination with the Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP).
She said the project also aims to conduct tuberculosis screening through active case finding for the CHO to determine the health condition of every resident.
The mayor said patients who tested positive for tuberculosis based on the X-ray results immediately underwent sputum examination.
Aguilar said those found positive with tuberculosis were also referred to barangay health centers for treatment and observation.
She said the project will continue until the local government achieves its goal to make the city tuberculosis-free.
