Ifugao cops hold cultural games in celebration of 27th PCR Month and 35th Cordillera Month
LAGAWE, Ifugao -– Personnel of the Ifugao Provincial Police Office in partnership with the Ifugao KKDAT (Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terorismo) Chapters conducted a cultural sportsfest in celebration of 27th Police Community Relations and 35th Cordillera Month on Friday, July 22, at Camp Col. Joaquin Dunuan, Poblacion North here.

The sportsfest was done to promote peace, harmony, goodwill, sportsmanship, camaraderie and culture preservation, with special emphasis on the youth as partners in maintaining peace and order towards community development.
The event was highlighted with ethnic games competition which included individual and group games such as ‘Ug-gub,’ ‘hangul’ (arm wrestling), Hinnukting, Labbah Race, Innabah, and Guyyudan (tug of war).

Event rules called for all participants to be in Ifugao native attire.
The competition concluded with an exhibition game for basketball men and volleyball women dressed in traditional Ifugao attire.

Medals and certificates of participation were given to the winners of the games.
Col James Mangili, provincial director, commended the active participation of the Ifugao youth as an active partner of the PNP in the advocacy against drugs and terrorism.
"I’m always elated to see our youth, the KKDAT members, being participative in all our activities, not only during clean-up drives and tree planting activities but also sports and cultural activities,” said Mangili in his message.

“Whenever I see the younger generations wearing our Ifugao native costumes, I feel energized, filled with joy, proud and thankful that these young people cherish our culture,” he added.
“This is why I encourage all of you, especially the PNP, to teach our children how to wear our Ifugao native attire and preserve our culture," stressed Mangili.
