Bayani Agbayani in hot water over 'overtime' comment

Netizens are ganging up on comedian Bayani Agabayani after he made a comment about overtime on "Tropang LOL."

He said, "Batiin lang natin si direk, lahat ng staff kasi kahit kelan di tayo nag overtime."

It seems harmless enough but that he did so after "It's Showtime" extended beyond its allotted time eating up that of his show "Tropang LOL" proved contentious.

Fans of both shows were quick to exchanged barbs on social media.

Others zeroed in on Bayani.

Some of the comments:

"Bayani tama lang na huwag kayo mag overtime, kasi wala naman nanunuod ng boring niyong show"

"Ang dapat sa inyo mag undertime, mas masaya ang Showtime..."

"The audacity of Bayani Agbayani."

"May show pala siya?"

It didn't end there.

Some fans didn't like that the comedian also commented, "Wag nyo po kaming hayaang maging hambog at mayabang" at one point of the show.

Some believe it is another attack against "It's Showtime."

One said, "Ikaw ang hambog!"

Added another, "Ang unang kumuda ang mayabang!"

Bayani is unperturbed.

In separate reports, he made clear he'd rather spend time with his family than entertain negativity.

But one can't easily erase history, particularly a shared one.

The director of "Tropang LOL," Bobet Vidanes caused huge commotion after he left "It's Showtime" in seeming bad terms in 2020.

"Tropang LOL" host Billy Crawford was also part of "It's Showtime" prior.

He jumped to TV5 after.
