Work on local offices in Quezon City will only be until 12:00 noon on Monday, July 25, to give way to the first State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos.
"Essential services, which include law enforcement, traffic management, fire protection, health and rescue, disaster response and management among others, shall remain uninterrupted," according to the Memorandum signed by Mayor Joy Belmonte on Saturday, July 23.
Earlier, the local government announced the suspension of classes in all levels for public and private schools in the city.
It also encouraged city-based businesses to temporarily halt their operations or adopt work-from-home arrangements in order to ease the mobility requirements and road congestion.
Meanwhile, QC Department of Public Order and Safety head (Ret.) Gen. Elmo San Diego said that they will deploy around 500 personnel to assist the police in maintaining peace and order on SONA day.
