Ryan Ong Alonzo shattered another world record for most number of consecutive jump rope crossovers during the “Unbreakable” event on Sunday, July 24, at the Ayala Malls Circuit in Makati City.

Known as the “Skipman” who already holds the Guinness World Record for most number of double under skips in 12 hours at 40,980, Alonzo only needed a little over 35 minutes to eclipse the previous mark of 2,405 before going on for another 20 minutes to successfully register 3,732 crossovers right on his first attempt.

Skipman tried to surpass his own mark but came up short in his last two efforts, recording 3,282 crossovers in his second attempt and 3403 in the third.

A crossover in jump rope is performed by crossing the arms in front during the standard swing motion and jumping through the loop created. The record was previously held by Harbaksh Singh who completed the feat in December 2019 in Lok Vihar, Delhi in India.

It was the second world record for the nephew of Dr. Willie Ong and co-owner of Kumori Japanese Café after he also broke the record in most double under skips in October last year.

Unlike in the previous Guinness attempt where he had the chance to take a breather after every hour, Alonzo displayed poise and endurance during the course of the attempt.

Skipman's team now awaits the confirmation from the Guinness Books of World Records to officially acknowledge his record-breaking feat.
