Hundreds show up at Comelec's satellite site at SM Lucena on last day of SK registration

LUCENA CITY, Quezon – Hundreds of young voters flocked to the Commission Election’s satellite registration site at SM City here on the last day of registration for the Sangguniang Kabataan on Saturday, July 23.

The SM City Lucena satellite site was set up precisely to accommodate as many qualified voters for the SK elections set this December.

The registration kicked off on Monday (July 18).

There were suggestions in the 18th Congress to postpone the Barangay and SK elections which will entail huge amounts to conduct. The elections are set for December 5.

Without a law postponing the barangay and SK elections however, the Comelec is bound to do its mandate with regards to preparation.

The Comelec welcomed new registrants who must be at least 15 years old by December 5, 2022. Registrant must be a resident of the barangay where he or she plans to vote.

The registration went smoothly at SM City Lucena, thanks to the guards assigned by the mall.
