Zubiri says PBBM to ditch 3-hour long SONA, will hold post-SONA meeting instead


President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. plans to hold a meeting with stakeholders next week after delivering his State of the Nation Address (SONA) at the Batasang Pambansa Complex in Quecon City on Monday, July 25.

The post-SONA meeting may be held at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) on Tuesday or Wednesday.

During the post-SONA meeting, the Cabinet members will talk about their plans and programs to stakeholders who were not able to attend the SONA in Quezon City.

This was reveled Saturday, July 23 during a DWIZ radio interview wi4h acting Senate President Pro Tempore Juan Miguel Zubiri.

Zubiri revealed that the President planned to deliver his SONA for about three or four hours.

But some Cabinet members tried to convince the President that people would get bored listening to the SONA for three to four hours, he said.

Zubiri, the Senate Majority Leader in the previous 18th Congress, is expected to be elected as Senate President when the Senate and House of Representatives open the 19th Congress on Monday.

He also said there is an urgent necessity for Malacañang to fill up the vacant Presidential Legislative Liaison Office (PLLO) for a coordinated action by Congress and the executive branch on bills or resolutions.

"The PLLO chief must good, active rand preferably a former senator or former congressmen friendly to the Senate and the House of Representatives," he explained.
