PH Red Cross opens 27th 'bakuna' center

The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) opened its 27th "Bakuna" center located in Malabon City on July 20.

According to PRC, this is the first "Bakuna" center in the city.

The PRC "Bakuna" Center, in partnership with the Department of Health (DOH), the local government unit of Malabon, and the Rotary Club of Malabon, vaccinated 66 individuals, including senior citizens, immunocompromised patients, and qualified adolescents ages 12-17 years on its opening day.

“Patuloy ang pakikipag-ugnayan ng Red Cross sa local government units at pribadong ahensiya para tugunan ang panawagan na mahikayat ang ating mga kababayan na magpabakuna. Ang Bakuna Center sa Malabon ay naglalayong mailapit ang ating mga bakuna sa mga komunidad na nangangailangan (Red Cross is continuously coordinating with the local government units and private agencies to respond with the call of encouraging our countrymen to get vaccinated. The "Bakuna" center in Malabon aims to bring the vaccine close to the communities that need it),” PRC Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Richard Gordon said.

PRC Malabon Chapter has administered 4,116 doses of vaccine since February. This was added to the PRC’s total number of 1,211,810 administered vaccines across the country with 375,094 fully vaccinated individuals.

Malabon City Mayor and PRC Malabon City Chapter Chairperson Jeannie Sandoval attended the opening ceremony together with officials from the DOH, Malabon City Health Office, and PRC volunteers and staff.
