PCSO, PH dragon boat team sign financial sponsorship agreement


The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) signed a sponsorship agreement with the Bomba Pilipinas Dragon Boat Team giving the latter P400,000 worth of financial help.

The team will use the fund for its upcoming five-day International Tournament at Sarawak, Malaysia on Oct. 27-31 according to a report posted on PCSO's website.

“Napakalaking tulong po nito in terms of financial assistance sa mga kakailanganin po namin sa darating na race namin sa October. Maraming-maraming salamat po at Mabuhay po ang PCSO (This is a huge help in terms of assisting our financial needs for our incoming race in October. Thank you so much and long live PCSO),” said Reian Pisico, president of Bomba Pilipinas Dragon Boat Team.

The sponsorship signing ceremony was attended by Pisico and PCSO Chairperson and Ad Interim General Manager Anselmo Simeon P. Pinili’s Chief-of-Chief Ms. Sharon V. Marasigan. It was held on July 15 at the PCSO Board Room in Mandaluyong City.

According to the report, Bomba Pilipinas Dragon Boat Team was established four years ago and is composed of 150 members who are mostly professional athletes and blue-collar workers.

The team won gold and silver medals in the finals of the 7th Federation of Chinese Association Sabah International Dragon Boat Race held in Sabah, Malaysia making them the only Philippine team to qualify for the upcoming competition.
