Man on drug watchlist yields over P400K shabu in Bulacan sting

A man on the drug watchlist of the police was arrested Friday, July 22, after he yielded over P400,000 worth of shabu during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Poblacion, Baliwag, Bulacan.

Col. Charlie A. Cabradilla, acting Bulacan police director, identified the arrested suspect as Joselito dela Cruz alias "Papeng", of Sitio Libis, Barangay Poblacion, Baliwag. He was included in the unified drug watchlist of the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

He was nabbed by operatives of the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) of Baliwag Municipal Police, Special Operations Unit (SOU3), and PNP Drug Enforcement Group.

Based on the report of Lt. Col. Julius Alvaro, acting Baliwag town police chief, the suspect was arrested after selling shabu to an undercover cop.

Seized from him were 18 heat-sealed plastic sachets containing 73.41 grams of suspected shabu with a street value of P499,188, and the buy-bust money.

The confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to the Bulacan Provincial Forensic Unit for examination.

Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 (The Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) will be filed against the suspect, police said.
