The Bulacan police force is gearing up for the first State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. at the House of Representative, Batasang Pambansa Complex in Quezon City on Monday, July 25.
Col. Charlie A. Cabradilla, acting Bulacan police director, said that a total of 242 personnel were deployed to different checkpoints established by the Bulacan Police in the province.
The Bulacan Civil Disturbance Management (CDM) contingent consisting of 53 troops from the 1st and 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Companies are also on standby to augment the National Capital Region Police in maintaining peace and order during the SONA.
Likewise, all police units in the province conduct anti-criminality and targeted police operations, as well as intensified checkpoint operations, along major thoroughfares to avert any eventualities that may arise during the occasion.
Cabradilla said the Bulacan PNP has mapped out security measures to safeguard the public from potential scenarios, including rallies staged by militant groups that may generate traffic congestions.
Moreover, Cabradilla stressed the Bulacan PNP supports the right of all individuals to practice their freedom of expression and voice their opinions, but strongly discourages the public from participating in demonstrations.
