An official of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) has expressed hope that there will be mall voting come the May 2025 polls.

"By the next elections, I hope it will already be the real voting in malls. I think it is no longer a far-fetched dream," Comelec Commissioner Aimee Ferolino said during Tuesday's signing of a memorandum of agreement with SM Malls for the holding of satellite voter registration.
She expressed the same thoughts when they signed a similar agreement with Robinsons Malls.
"Hopefully, come the 2025 elections, we can also think of something else where we can partner (with malls). This partnership has been going on for years, and we are thinking of expanding to other services we can offer to the people," said Ferolino.
In the past, then Comelec Chairman Sheriff Abas said although there were proposals before to conduct elections at the malls, it was disapproved because of some legal issues.
