A man named by the police as a most wanted person for various crimes in Metro Manila was arrested by members of the Pasay City police Warrant and Subpoena Section (WSS) on Tuesday, July 19.
Col. Cesar Paday-os, city police chief, identified the suspect as Russel Pacia, 52 a resident of Sun Valley, NAIA Road, Pasay City.
Paday-os said the suspect was arrested by members of WSS around 3 p.m. along Abad Santos Avenue, Manila during the conduct of Simultaneous Anti-Criminality and Law Enforcement Operation (SACLEO) against wanted persons.
He said Pacia is facing three counts of carnapping at the sala of Pasay City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Judge Gina Bibat-Palamos of Branch 108, Judge Petronillo A. Sulla Jr of Branch 110, and Judge Jesus Mupas of Branch 112. The three judges recommended a bail of P180,000.
The city police chief said eight counts of carnapping case were filed against Pacia at the sala of Judge Edwin Ramizo of Pasay RTC Branch 114 with a P1.4 million bail.
Paday-os said a warrant of arrest was also issued against Pacia by Pasay RTC Judge Francisco Mendiola of Branch 115 with a recommended bail of P300,000 and another three counts of carnapping filed at the sala of Judge Eugenio Dela Cruz of Branch 117 with a recommended bail of P540,000.
The city police chief said the suspect is facing a total of 15 counts of carnapping cases.
Paday-os said another warrant of arrest was issued against the suspect by Pasay RTC judges and one in Quezon City for estafa.
Judge Wilhelmina Jorge of Pasay RTC Branch 111 issued a warrant of arrest for estafa case and Judge Edwin Ramizo of Branch 114 both recommended of P40,000 bail while for the two counts filed at the sala of Judge Eugenio Dela Cruz of Branch 1167, the bail recommended was P80,000.
Another estafa case was filed at the sala of Judge Jose Paneda of Branch 220 in Quezon City with a P40,000 bail recommended.
Paday-os said three counts of violation of the bouncing checks law were also filed before the Metropolitan Trial Court in Pasay City and Marikina City against the suspect.
Judge Kirk Aninon of Municipal Trial Court Branch 44 issued a warrant of arrest on December 1, 2015 with a bail recommended at P35, 000 while in Marikina City, Judge Marie Lyn Andal issued a warrant of arrest on March 29,2016 with a bail recommended at P6,000 for three counts against Pacia.
