The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has prepared a program that will assist in the transition of new local officials in the management of local government units (LGUs) in Ilocos Region.
The 2022 Newly-Elected Officials (NEO) Orientation for the governors, and city and municipal mayors will be handled by the Local Government Academy (LGA) while the orientation for the re-elected and come-backing local chief executives (LCEs) will be conducted by the DILG Regional Office.
The NEO Program 2022 in Region 1 will kick off with this month while the orientation for the new LCEs for the Cluster of Region 1, Region 2, and (Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) is slated in August.
Earlier, DILG Sec. Benhur Abalos highlighted the importance of multisectoral cooperation in developing LGU plans and actions to solve systemic problems in the provinces and maintain peaceful, safe, and orderly localities.
“Let us, therefore, be active in collaborating with the administration by anchoring our programs and actions in the same direction while taking into consideration your localities’ needs,” Abalos said.
