16 outstanding HEIs bag awards for Covid-19 vaccination program
The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) has awarded 16 higher education institutions (HEIs) across the country for their outstanding Covid-19 vaccination program.

“So many HEIs launched school based vaccination and must be commended. But these awardees are the best of the best exemplifying the Bayanihan spirit by forging unity and cooperation among key stakeholders to expedite the vaccination against Covid-19 of their students, faculty, and non-teaching personnel,” said CHED Chairman Popoy De Vera.
These outstanding HEIs, CHED noted, have a “very high” vaccination rate of at least 95 percent of the total number of HEI faculty and staff and more than 70 percent of the total number of tertiary students.
Among the outstanding HEIs were the following: Mariano Marcos State University, University of Saint Louis, Centro Escolar University in Malolos, University of the Philippines in Los Baños, John Paul College, University of Santo Tomas in Legazpi, West Visayas State University, Matias H. Aznar Memorial College of Medicine, Doña Remedios T. Romualdez Medical Foundation, Universidad de Zamboanga, Xavier University, Cor Jesu College Inc., St. Alexius College Inc., University of Baguio, Father Saturnino Urios University, as well as Our Lady of Fatima University in Valenzuela and Pampanga.
The ceremony was held at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), said CHED in a press statement issued on Thursday, July 21.
