Young man arrested, yields P60,000 marijuana in Bacolod buy-bust

BACOLOD CITY – A 20-year-old man was arrested and 500 grams of suspected marijuana worth P60,000 were seized in a buy-bust operation in Purok Tahong, Barangay 2, here Wednesday, July 20.

Police Capt. Paul Vincent Pendon, head of Police Station 2, identified the suspect as Elmark Sonido of Barangay 2.

Pendon said they received information about the big volume of marijuana allegedly being sold by Sonido in the barangay.

Police launched an operation leading to Sonido’s arrest.

Pendon said that Sonido has no job and would usually tag along with his friends.

The Bacolod Police Station 2 head said they already have a lead on the source of the illegal drugs but he refused to divulge more details pending their follow-up operation.

The operation came a day after the Police Station 2 confiscated P27,200 worth of suspected shabu in the barangay Tuesday, July 19.

Sonido is detained at the police station for filing of drug charges.
