Muntinlupa’s weekly Covid-19 cases up by 63% 


Muntinlupa City’s total weekly new Covid-19 cases increased by 63 percent compared to the previous period.

Based on daily data from the City Health Office (CHO), Muntinlupa recorded 257 new Covid-19 cases from July 11 to 17, up by 99 cases or 63 percent compared to 158 new cases tallied from July 4 to 10.

As of July 19, Muntinlupa has 158 active Covid-19 cases out of 40,869 confirmed cases, 40,092 recoveries, and 619 deaths.

The CHO added 40 new Covid-19 cases, 47 new recoveries, and zero deaths on that day.

Muntinlupa Mayor Ruffy Biazon had previously reminded the public to follow health protocols including the wearing of face masks although he said the Covid-19 situation in the city was not a cause for alarm due to low healthcare utilization rate.

According to the Department of Health (DOH), the country added 14,640 new Covid-19 cases from July 11 to 17, up by 44 percent compared to the previous week.

Based on the DOH’s Covid-19 Tracker, the Philippines has 20,511 active Covid-19 cases as of July 19 with the total confirmed cases at 3.73 million since 2020.

The Muntinlupa City government urged residents to get vaccinated as protection against severe symptoms of Covid-19.
