A man surrendered to the police allegedly after choking his wife to death inside their house in Barangay Alicia, Quezon City on Tuesday, July 19.
The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) identified the suspect as Ralph Encinares, 26.
According to the police report, the victim, Mae Encinares, 26, a call center agent, was found lifeless on the floor by her parents when they visited their house in Barangay Alicia at around 7:40 a.m. on Tuesday.
Her husband and their two kids were not in the house.
Police said that at around 8 a.m. on the same day, the suspect surrendered to the QCPD Project 6 Station (PS 15).
During police questioning, the suspect admitted killing his wife.
He told investigators that their marital problem started when his wife caught him with his mistress in 2017.
The suspect alleged that in August 2021, he discovered that his wife was sending text messages and private photos to another man.
He claimed that prior to committing the crime, he was trying to save their relationship for the sake of their children.
The victim's body will undergo an autopsy to determine the real cause of her death, police said.
