DSWD assures 'delisted' beneficiaries will be informed before removal from 4Ps

Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Erwin Tulfo assured on Wednesday, July 20, that the 1.3 million beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) who will be removed from the list of recipients will be properly informed.
“When we come out with a list, we will inform them that they are not included in the list anymore,” Tulfo said.
“May due process naman (There is due process),” he assured.
Tulfo said there are 4.4 million household-beneficiaries currently enrolled in the 4Ps.
“Kung aalisin natin yung 1.3 so 3.1 ho yung matitira. Pero lalagyan ulit natin dahil 15 million households yung considered na poor (If we remove the 1.3 million then 3.1 million will be left. But we will replace it because there are 15 million households that are considered poor),” he pointed out.
“Give us until September or probably October , because marami-rami po yung aabisuhan namin (there is a lot to be notified). Then after that, kapag na-clear na yung list, papalitan natin nung mga nasa waiting list (Then after that, when the list is cleared, we will replace them with those on the waiting list),” he said.
Tulfo said those who will be removed from the 4Ps list can still appeal.
“Yung mga na-delist pwede silang dahil ongoing ang aming survey and assessment (Those who have been delisted can appeal because our survey and assessment is ongoing),” Tulfo said.
“As a matter of fact, ongoing pa yung 600,000 na kailangan balikan dahil either wala sila sa bahay nila or yung iba ayaw kaming pagbuksan (assessment is ongoing for 600,000 beneficiaries because we have to go back to them as they were not in their house or the others did not want to accommodate us when we first visited them),” he added.
