PBA 3x3: Six teams vie for last spots

Six teams slug it for the four remaining berths in the knockout stage of the PBA 3x3 Third Conference grand finals on Sunday.

Cavitex, Limitless App, Barangay Ginebra, Platinum Karaoke, Terrafirma, and Sista fight each other out at Robinsons Place Manila in the final competition of the standalone tournament’s inaugural season

The four teams to survive the single round pool will join the top four seeded teams TNT, Meralco, Purefoods, and San Miguel in the quarterfinal playoffs later on.

Only the Top 10 teams with the highest accumulated Tour points at the conclusion of the 14-team, six-leg meet qualified in the conference grand finals.

TNT emerged as the team with the most number of leg titles in the third conference with three (Legs 1, 3, and 4), while Meralco (Leg 2), San Miguel (Leg 5), and Purefoods (Leg 6) with one each.

The six teams have been divided into two groups. The Braves,

Appmasters, and Kings are in Pool A, while Platinum, Terrafirma, and Sista are bunched in Pool B.

The top two teams in each group advance in the next round.

Pool A topnotcher plays third seed Purefoods, and Pool A runner up meets no. 1 seed TNT, while Pool B no.1 clashes with fourth seed San Miguel and Pool B no. 2 faces second seed Meralco.

The grand champion will receive the top prize of P750,000, runner up gets P250,000, and third placer P100,000.

The champion also gets to join Limitless App and Pioneer Pro Tibay as the grand winners of the maiden season of the tournament.

Limitless topped the first conference grand finals, while Pioneer ruled the second conference.
