De Lima not surprised by NBI findings on high-profile inmates' deaths

"Exactly what I’ve always suspected."

That was the reaction of former Senator Leila de Lima on the mysterious deaths of several high-profile inmates--including Jaybee Sebastian--inside the National Bilibid Prisons (MBP) that were passed off as Covid-19 victims.

‘’I dare add, as I’ve always believed based on credible info, that Sebastian had to be silenced for good to prevent him from recanting his statements falsely implicating me,’’ according to the lady legislator who remains detained at Camp Came while facing illegal drugs charges.

De Lima saluted the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) for its courage in disclosing these bombshell findings of deliberate killings.

‘’We discern here a cover-up by PNP-NCRPO (Philippine National Police-National Capital Region Police Office) and BuCor (Bureau of Corrections) authorities,’’ she said.

‘’One question though – How come no BuCor officials or personnel appear to have been charged by the NBI?" she asked.
