Scattered rains to prevail over Palawan; isolated rain showers, thunderstorms may affect rest of PH

The trough or extension of a low pressure area may bring cloudy skies, scattered rain showers, and thunderstorms over Palawan in the next 24 hours, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Tuesday, July 19.
PAGASA advised the public to stay vigilant as “moderate to at times heavy rains” may trigger flash floods or landslides.
Meanwhile, the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the ridge of high pressure area or localized thunderstorms.
PAGASA also warned against flash floods or landslides that may occur during severe thunderstorms, which are often accompanied by sudden heavy rains, lightning, thunder, gusty winds, and sometimes hail.
The southwest monsoon or “habagat” has slightly weakened and is not expected to affect any part of the country in the next 24 hours.
