Rose Jean Ramos reaps four golds in Asian Youth and Junior Weightlifting Championships

Rose Jean Ramos continued to make heads turn after reaping four gold, one silver and one bronze medals in the Asian Youth and Junior Weightlifting Championships in Tashkent, Uzbekistan Monday night.

Competing in the women’s 45kg category, the 17-year-old Zamboanga standout ruled the Youth division after clinching gold medals in snatch (70kgs), clean and jerk (83kgs) and total (153kgs).

She won her fourth gold medal in snatch (70kgs) in the junior division, managed bronze in the clean and jerk (83kgs) and silver in total (153kgs).

Garud Sharad Harshada of India dominated the junior division after placing second in snatch (69kgs), and topping the clean and jerk (88kg). She had a 157kg total.

Ramos’ feat came a day after Angeline Colonia collected two gold medals in the youth women’s 40kg category.

It also came a month after she duplicated her previous feat in the 2022 International Weightlifting Federation Youth World Championships by bagging two gold and one silver medal in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
