Gina Pareño recalls relationship with Doktora Bong

Seasoned actress Gina Pareño recently appeared as guest in Ogie Diaz's vlog.

There, the 75-year-old veteran star was asked: “Kaya mo bang aminin na miyembro ka ng LGTBQ?”

Gina replied: “Oo, bakit? May problema?”

Note she was asked this after Ogie reminded her about a certain "Doktora Bong."

According to Ogie back when he and Gina were working together, he would always see her bring Doktora Bong's urn to work.

Asked why, Gina said, “Marami akong utang na loob doon.”

“Nasa kuwarto ko pa rin yung urn niya,” she admitted.

According to Gina, she learned a lot from Doktora Bong.

“Mabait sa akin. Tinuturuan ako, ine-educate niya ako,” Gina related.

Gina went on to share how she met Doktora Bong.

It was then we learned that Doktora Bong was Bong Erana, otherwise known as Nenita Vidal, an actress who made several films back in the '50s.

According to Gina, Nenita or Doktora Bong was her mentor.

Gina shared, “Napapanood pala niya ako. So, gusto na niya yung arte ko, ganun-ganun, naging close ako sa kanya... Tinuruan niya ako kung paano kumilos, lahat. Tapos 'yun nga, ibinigay niya sa akin 'yung naiwan niyang bahay."

“Mahal na mahal ako nun,” she added, turning emotional.

Doktora Bong passed away in 2001.
