More than 1.5 million applications for voter registration have so far been received by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) for the December Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan polls.
The Comelec said as of July 16 there are already 1,518,569 new registrants.
These are voters aged 15 to 17 years old with 953,910 applicants; 18 to 30 years old with 483,696 applicants; and 31 years old and above with 80,963 applicants.
Other applications received by the Comelec are the following: 254,828 Applications for Transfer from Other Cities/Municipalities; 66,608 Applications for Transfer from within the same City/Municipality; 10,510 Applications for Transfer with Reactivation; 3,892 Applications for Transfer with Reactivation and Correction of Entries; 13,235 Applications for Transfer with Correction of Entries; 67,341 Applications for Reactivation; 15,842 Applications for Reactivation with Correction of Entries; 43,918 Applications for Change of Names/Correction of Entries; 67 Applications for Inclusion of Record in the Book of Voters; 801 Applications for Reinstatement of Name in the List of Voters; and 4,132 Applications for Transfer from Overseas Voting to Local.
The total number of all types of applications received is at 1,999,743 individuals.
Voter registration resumed last July 4 and will end on July 23, 2022.
