21 individuals nabbed for illegal cockfighting, cara y cruz in Dasmariñas, Cavite

DASMARIÑAS CITY, Cavite –  Authorities arrested 21 individuals in two separate anti-illegal gambling operations on Sunday, July 17.

In Barangay Salitran I, 10 suspects were nabbed for engaging in illegal cockfighting or tupada.  

Confiscated during the operation were two dead fighting cocks, two steel blades or gaffs, and bet money amounting to P1,750 in various denominations.

In a separate operation in Barangay Santa Cristina I, the police arrested 11 individuals caught in the act of playing the illegal coin game cara y cruz.

Authorities confiscated three pieces of one-peso coins used for the game and bet money amounting to P600.

The suspects in both operations are facing charges of violating the anti-illegal gambling law.
