Officially, Willie Revillame signed last Friday a co-production venture with the Villar-owned Advanced Media Broadcasting Systems (ABMS) Channel 2 to be the new home of his long- running game show, “Wowowin: Tutok to Win” beginning Oct. 1.
However, in an unofficial capacity, Willie has been working side-by-side Maribeth Tolentino, AMBS president, to bring form and structure to the programming content of the new network. Willie said, “malaking bagay na po sa akin na napagkatiwalaan tayo ng mga Villar upang tumulong na kumuha ng mga talent at mag-suggest ng mga programa kasi alam naman po nilang may kaalaman tayo sa mga bagay na ito dahil dito naman po talaga tayo galing.”
He said titles don’t really matter to him. He said he is happy doing everything he can to help the Villar’s in their latest business venture. He said he had brokered meetings already with some of the country’s biggest talent management companies and producers with the management of AMBS. He said the network is open to all kinds of partnerships for as long as the shows will turn out the perfect fit and boost the network’s presence.
Willie denied though that they have already signed up big names at this stage. He urged the public to just wait for the proper time when AMBS management is ready to announce talents and launch shows in the near future. He said everything is happening all at once including equipment upgrade, signal boosting, crafting a program grid, etc. “Pinag-aaralan pa po lahat ng bagay. Basta ang maganda, maraming magkakaroon ng trabaho sa pagbubukas ng AMBS,” he reiterated.
Willie seems to be so fired up over the possibility of generating thousands of jobs to industry people, some of whom stopped working altogether when ABS CBN closed down due to the franchise fiasco a few years back. He said he is just happy to be part of the network that will be a vessel to restore the livelihood of these people.
This is the same charitable spirit that gets Willie excited to showcase the next chapter of his game show on AMBS. He said during the press conference which aired on Youtube and Facebook last Friday afternoon, “gusto lamang po nating ituloy ang pagbibigay kasiyahan, inspirasyon at pag-asa sa ating mga kababayan sa pamamagitan ng show na ito. Maraming tao kasi ngayon kulang na ang saya dahil sa dami ng problema. Sa Wowowin dadagdagn natin ang saya, bibigyan natin ng pag-asa ang buhay.”
Willie also proudly showcased during the press con AMBS’s newly-renovated studios to be housed inside three Starmalls in the metropolis. He likes this because it only means his show will be more accessible to his guests and audience as it can be reached via bus, MRT, LRT, and all public transportations.

Diego Loyzaga’s acting in ‘Maid in Malacanang’ approved by his dad
Cesar Montano has given a big thumbs up to his son Diego Loyzaga’s performance in the new and controversial movie by director Darryl Yap, “Maid in Malacanang” where both of them are appearing for the first time together and as father and son.
Proud of his son’s growth as an actor, Cesar says, “pwedeng pwede na si Diego. I can really see his growth as an actor. Magaling na.”
Diego, who admitted to be both excited and scared at the same time for this opportunity to act with his Dad on the big screen, said he is happy with how it turned out. “Through the guidance of Senator Imee and director Darryl, and my own intensive research about my role, the young president Bong Bong Marcos, naitawid naman.”
For sure, Diego also had acting notes after witnessing first-hand how important it is for Cesar to immerse in his role, this time as the late President Ferdinand Marcos. Cesar said, “walang masyadong pinagkaiba ang paghahanda. Kung paano ako naghanda sa iba ko pang roles na ginampanan pareho ni Jose Rizal, ganun din ang aking efforts dito kay dating Pangulong Marcos. Seryoso tayo sa lahat ng assignment natin.”
Regarding his fair share of bashing from netizens involving the movie, Diego takes everything in stride. “We cannot really please everybody. When I accepted the role, I knew there will be negative comments somewhere. Pero sana panoorin nila para makita nila performance ko. I want to be better as an actor,” he said.
