It's the last week of the voter registration period and the Commission on Elections (Comelec) expects many voter applicants will still go to their local offices to register.
"Comelec had readily observed that the applicants’ turn-out is very high. And we expect that to continue this last week of registration," Comelec Acting Spokesperson John Rex Laudiangco said in an interview.
Due to this, the poll official issued the following reminders to voter applicants:
•Apply Early and not crowd on the last remaining days.
•Check our schedules of offsite/satellite registrations, particularly in malls and large venues where we could accommodate more applicants.
•Come to our office or registration sites with fully accomplished application forms in triplicate (CEF #1, Supplemental Data Form, Health Declaration Form; Affidavit of Identification for those without any proof of identification; Overseas Transfer form for those registered overseas voters who intend to transfer their registration to local).
•Bring acceptable proofs of identification and readily present the same.
•Maintain compliance to minimum public health standards.
Voter registration for the December Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan polls resumed last July 4 and will end on July 23.
As of July 15, the Comelec said that there are a total of 1,307,593 new registrants.
These new registrants are composed of the 15 to 17 years old with 863,078; 18 to 30 years old 435,266; and 31 year old and above with 72,249.
