Over 5,000 public school graduates receive cash incentives in Navotas City

More than 5,000 elementary and senior high school graduates from public schools in Navotas City have received cash incentives from the local government.

The city government said that 3,810 Grade 6 students each received P500, while 2,067 Grade 12 graduates were given P1,000 each. The distribution were held on June 14-15.

“We want to honor and show our appreciation to our graduates for pursuing their education, especially despite the challenges of the pandemic. The past school years have been difficult, but they persevered with the help and guidance of their parents and teachers,” Mayor John Rey Tiangco said.

"We hope that through this incentive, our students will be motivated to finish their schooling or help them in their pre-employment needs,” he added.

The city started the distribution of the  graduation incentives in 2019.
