Elderly woman yields P7.5-M shabu in Cebu buy-bust

CEBU CITY – A 69-year-old suspected drug pusher was arrested and yielded more than one kilo of suspected shabu valued at P7.5 million in a police buy-bust operation in Barangay Poblacion, Consolacion, Cebu Friday, July 15.

The suspect was identified as Wennie delos Santos Chow.

Police Major Joey Bicoy revealed that she is a big-time drug personality.

“She is considered a big-time drug player,” said Bicoy, chief of the Intelligence Unit and Drug Enforcement Unit of the Cebu Provincial Police Office.

Bicoy said Chow was selling illegal drugs before she scaled down operations when the government launched “Oplan: Tokhang,” the flagship anti-illegal drugs campaign of former President Duterte.

Police monitoring showed that the suspect resumed her illegal drug activities last year.

The suspect is a resident of Barangay Subayon, Toledo City, Cebu but stayed in a boarding house in Consolacion where her illegal drug transactions take place.

“In every transaction, she sells a minimum of 100 grams of shabu,” Bicoy said.

Bicoy said police will conduct further investigation to identify the suspect’s cohorts.
