Access to two excellent Quirino waterfalls made easier

QUIRINO – Local and foreign tourists will now have easier access to water falls destinations in this province.

It’s because the Department of Public Works and Highways and the Department of Tourism have collaborated for the concreting of the first 2.08-kilometer road leading to the province’s two scenic falls.

These tourist spots are the Napipiwongan Falls in Barangay Nagabgaban, Aglipay, and Dibiwen Falls in Barangay Dingasan, Cabarroguis.

The DPWH seemed impressed with the outcome of the project that the tourist’s destinations could be an interesting subject for travel vloggers and content creators.

On Friday, the DPWH Quirino District Engineer Lorna B. Asuten reported that the newly-concreted road is part of a 17.04-kilometer ongoing access road project that leads to newly identified tourist spots.

“The 2-lane agri-tourism road with shoulders on both sides will not only allow easy and safer access to Quirino’s new waterfalls, but also support farmers in the area,” said District Engineer Asuten.

For now, a small section of the entire project is already benefiting farmers who now find it easier to transport their agricultural produce and other high value crops such as lanzones and rambutan, added District Engineer Asuten.

Likewise, the travel time going to Dibiwen Falls has also been reduced to an hour from the end of the paved road.

When fully-completed, the tourism road is also expected to benefit residents of Barangay Alimit in the municipality of Kasibu, Nueva Vizcaya.

DPWH said this will provide interconnectivity with neighboring municipalities of Quirino.
