Marcos now 'ok' after 2nd bout with Covid-19; completes isolation phase

President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. is back in tip-top shape after catching Covid-19 for the second time last week, Malacañang said.

In a text message to reporters, Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles likewise shared that the President finished his isolation on Thursday.

"Ok na po (He's okay now) as of his doctor's findings yesterday," Angeles said on July 15.

"Tapos na rin po ang isolation nya (He's also completed his isolation)," she added.

Malacañang announced that Marcos tested positive for Covid-19 in an antigen test last week. He exhibited signs of the virus and underwent isolation for seven days.

On Wednesday, Angeles said that according to the President's physician Dr. Samuel Zacate, Marcos was declared free of all Covid-19 symptoms on July 13.

"Dr. Zacate gave the happy news that on the 5th and 6th day of his isolation, the President is now free from all symptoms of Covid-19," she said.

Zacate reported that Marcos had finished all his medications and, based on his clinical opinion, is ready to return to his face-to-face engagements but has to complete his seven-day isolation.

Marcos could be released from isolation on Friday, July 15, if he would not have a fever and there would be no reappearance of any signs and symptoms related to Covid-19.

Despite testing positive for Covid-19 during the first week of his presidency, Marcos continued work and even presided over Cabinet meetings via teleconferencing.
