Las Piñas LGU offers free progestin-only subdermal implant to mothers

The Las Piñas city government is offering free progestin-only subdermal implant, a long-acting reversible contraceptive, to mothers who want to have protection from unexpected pregnancies.

Mayor Imelda Aguilar said the progestin-only subdermal implant will provide three years protection to mothers to avoid unplanned pregnancies.

Aguilar told the City Health Office to help the Barangay Health Centers inform and reach mothers who want to receive the progestin-only subdermal implant and explain to them its importance.

She said giving free progestin-only subdermal implant is part of her administration's “Tuloy-Tuloy na Serbisyong Pangkalusugan.”

The mayor also said mothers who want to receive the free services may coordinate with their barangays health center officials or call the CHO hotlines number 028776-7268.
