Another drug den dismantled; 7 arrested in Taguig

The police dismantled another alleged drug den and arrested seven suspects in a buy-bust operation in Taguig on Wednesday, July 13.

Southern Police District Director Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg said the operation was conducted by the SPD’s Drug Enforcement Unit together with the personnel from the District Investigation Division along Levi Mariano Avenue in Taguig.

Seven persons, including the suspected drug den maintainer, high value individuals, and street level individuals, were arrested during the operation.

They were identified as Ignacio Bulanandi, 67, tricycle driver, tagged by the police as the alleged drug den maintainer; Catherine May Duarte, 45; Marciano Losito, 51, domestic helper; Alex Sanches, 58, construction worker; Edwin Gregorio, 42, construction worker; Romeo Herrera, 62; and Pedro Salazar, 42.

Confiscated were eight plastic sachets containing suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) weighing 21 grams with a value of P142,800 and P500 buy-bust money.

The suspects were charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).

Macaraeg praised the police for another successful operation against illegal drugs.
