The Quezon City government on Wednesday, July 13, distributed fleet cards with P1,000 fuel subsidy to 274 tricycle drivers from the city’s second district.
The beneficiaries who received the fuel subsidy cards on Wednesday were members of the Tricycle Operators and Drivers Association (TODA) from Riverside, Katuparan, Filinvest, and East Fairview.
District 2 Action Officer lawyer Bong Teodoro, Task Force on Transport and Traffic Management (TFTTM) Head Dexter Cardenas, and Tricycle Regulatory Division (TRD) Chief Benjamin Ibon III led the distribution of the fleet cards.
Under City Ordinance No. 3100-2022, authored by District 3 Rep. Franz Pumaren and enacted last March 14, the local government will provide the fleet cards with P1,000 to all tricycle-for-hire with existing franchise (drivers and operators) who were affected by the unprecedented increase in fuel prices.
It aims to provide the fuel subsidy to around 25,000 drivers of the three-wheeled vehicles in the city.
The local government had earlier distributed the fleet cards to 1,700 TODA members from Quezon City’s District 4.
