Palace probes death of admin aide inside Malacañang compound

An administrative aide died after falling off a building inside the Malacañang compound on Thursday morning, July 14, the Palace said.

Press Secretary Trixie Angeles-Cruz said in a press briefing that Mario Castro, an administrative aide assigned at the Information Communications Technology Office under the Deputy Executive Secretary for Finance and Accounting, fell from the fourth floor of Mabini Hall.

"We express our profound sorrow and condolences for the family of Mr. Mario Castro," Angeles said.

The incident is now being investigated by the Presidential Security Group (PSG)and the Philippine National Police Security Force Unit, Angeles added.

The Press Secretary further said that the Palace will also offer help to the family.

"May naiwang asawa at mga anak si Mr. Castro. Kami po ay nakikiramay sa kaniyang pamilya (Mr. Castro left behind his wife and children. We are offering our sympathy to his family)," she said.

"At ang kaniyang maybahay ay (His wife is) currently cooperating naman doon sa (in the) investigation. So, we will do whatever we can to help the family," she added.
