DepEd-Bicol eyes 1.8 million enrollees in school year 2022-2023

LEGAZPI CITY, Albay – The Department of Education (DepEd)-Bicol is targeting 1.8 million learners enrolling for school year 2022 to 2023.

Mayflor Jumamil, DepEd Bicol information officer, said that they expect the same enrolment figures as last school year.

DepEd-Bicol had 1,819,218 learners enrolled in the school year 2021-2022. Elementary had the highest number of enrollees with 839,048, followed by junior high school with 578,409.

In anticipation of the face-to-face classes, Jumamil explained that schools should pass the safety assessment and other requirements should be met.

Jumamil said DepEd Bicol projects 100 percent face-to-face classes in public and private elementary to high schools.

Unvaccinated learners are free to attend classes even in the face-to-face scheme, Jumamil said.
