ILOILO CITY — Almost 13,000 families in Western Visayas are no longer part of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), the national government’s conditional cash transfer program to alleviate poverty.
The Western Visayas office of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) announced that a total of 12,949 families have exited the program as they were assessed to be in good terms that they could financially stand on their own feet.
In a report, DSWD-Region 6 disclosed that these families have already been removed from the list of 4Ps beneficiaries in Western Visayas.
But these families are not the ones that DSWD Secretary Erwin Tulfo wants to be removed for violating the rules as 4Ps beneficiaries.
Of all the areas in Western Visayas, Negros Occidental, including Bacolod City, had the most number of families that completed the 4Ps. A total of 4,515 families benefited from the 4Ps in the province.
Iloilo and the City of Iloilo ranked second with 3,235 families that benefited from the 4Ps.
Capiz, including its capital Roxas City, ranked third with a total of 1,900 families finishing 4Ps.
Antique had 1,598 families that finished 4Ps; 1,540 in Aklan; and 161 in Guimaras.
