4 former communist rebels get P30,000 livelihood assistance each from DOLE


LA TRINIDAD, Benguet -- The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-Cordillera has awarded P30,000 in livelihood assistance each to four former communist rebels.

FOUR former communist rebels receive livelihood aid from the government in a ceremony in Benguet July 12.


Nathaniel Lacambra,  DOLE-Cordillera director, and Police Brig. Gen. Ronald Oliver Lee, Police Regional Office-Cordillera chief, led the awarding and distribution of livelihood assistance  at Camp Bado Dangwa here on July 12.
 The former rebels were able to receive their preferred livelihood assistance such as vulcanizing shop, motorcycle parts and accessories shop, milk tea shop, and feeds selling business. 

"Nanay Doms," a former member of the Militia ng Bayan (MB), received assorted ingredients, materials, and machinery for her milk tea shop. 

“Yoji,” former team leader of Platoon Galis of the Chadli Molintas Command under KLG Ampis, received basic tools and machinery for his vulcanizing shop. 

“Joey” of Team Uno of the KLG Montes received assorted swine feeds for his feeds selling business. 

“Alex” of Bandila, NPA sa Barrio received assorted motorcycle parts, accessories, fluids, and tools for his motorcycle parts and accessories shop. 

With the livelihood assistance, the former rebels were expected to start anew and will enable their reintegration into the community.
