PH Red Cross assists victims of construction site accident in Tagaytay City


The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) assisted the victims of a collapsed concrete fence on a residential construction site in Barangay Kaybagal Central, Tagaytay City, Cavite on July 11.

The PRC deployed its ambulance, search and rescue team, and welfare team to help the authorities respond on-site, PRC said in a statement.

The humanitarian organization's emergency medical services team treated a patient with multiple body abrasions and lacerations while the welfare team provided psychosocial support to another patient.

As per the Tagaytay City Police Station, six people died on the indicent.

PRC Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Richard Gordon noted that the PRC is always ready and present in medical emergencies.

"Meron tayong emergency medical services personnel o ambulance team at meron din tayong search and rescue team. Nandyan din ang ating welfare team na may kasanayan sa pagbigay ng psychosocial support na lubhang kailangan ng taong nakaranas ng krisis (We have the emergency medical services personnel or ambulance team as well as search and rescue team. Our welfare team is also present and equipped with expertise on giving psychosocial support which is really needed by someone experiencing a crisis),” Gordon added.
