ILOILO CITY – Police seized more than P1.1-million worth of suspected shabu from two alleged drug suspects in a buy-bust operation in Iloilo City before midnight Tuesday, July 12.

One-hundred seventy grams of shabu were recovered from drug suspects Gian Paolo Badilla Riosa and Sachiko Gumata Nakata.
The duo was arrested after selling a sachet of shabu to an undercover policeman. The operation was jointly conducted by the Police Regional Office-Regional Drug Enforcement Unit (PRO-RDEU 6) and Jaro Police Station of the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO).
The 39-year-old Riosa from Banate, Iloilo is listed as a high-valued target. He was arrested in 2016 for a drug-related case but was released in 2018.
The 33-year-old Nakata is considered as a street-level illegal drug trader.
Cops conducted surveillance on the duo for several months before conducting the buy-bust operation.
“This is another laudable accomplishment,” said Police Brig. Gen. Flynn Dongbo, PRO-6 director.
Riosa and Nakata will be charged for violating Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
