No one knows the son except the father

REFLECTIONS TODAY God the Father has a big role in our lives as disciples of Christ. We cannot really know Christ if the Father has not revealed him to us. That is why, Jesus exclaims, “I give praise to you, Father... for... you have revealed to the childlike.” We can follow Christ because the Father reveals the secrets of his Son. He reveals only to those who are open to him, to the childlike. The childlike are those who do not need so many arguments and explanations. They are trustful. They readily accept the teachings of Jesus whom they believe to be sent by God. They are unlike those sages and wise people of old who rely on their discussions, consultations, and interpretations on what God can be saying to them. These people are hard to convince of the presence of Christ among them. They do not know the Son. Those who are childlike know the Son, because the Father himself has touched their hearts and minds. Do you find it hard to follow Jesus’ teachings? Gospel • Mt 11:25-27 At that time Jesus exclaimed: “I give praise to you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for although you have hidden these things from the wise and the learned you have revealed them to the childlike. Yes, Father, such has been your gracious will. All things have been handed over to me by my Father.
