Las Piñas police arrest No. 5 most wanted person in Leyte

A man wanted for the crime of rape and named by the Las Piñas police as the No. 5 Most Wanted Person (MWP) for the third quarter of 2022 was arrested in Leyte on Tuesday, July 12.

Col. Jaime Santos, city police chief, said the suspect, identified as Edwin Quitoles, 48, a vendor, was arrested around 2:00 p.m. in Barangay Buenavista, Abuyog, Leyte.

Santos said the suspect was arrested in a joint operation conducted by members of the Warrant and Subpoena Section (WSS) and the Abuyog police station.

He said a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Elizabeth Yu-Guray of Las Piñas Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 202 for the crime of rape on December 2021was served against the suspect with no bail recommended.

The city police chief said the suspect is now detained at the Abuyog police custodial facility.
