Bulacan cops net 70 individuals in anti-crime ops

The Bulacan Provincial Police Office (BPPO), in its continuing campaign against the province's most wanted persons (MWP), arrested around 70 felons on Tuesday, July 12.

Col. Charlie A. Cabradilla, acting Bulacan police director, said 16 wanted felons; 32 drug suspects, and 22 illegal gamblers were arrested and some P136,000 worth of illegal drugs was seized. 

A manhunt operation conducted by the 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) in San Ildefonso led to the arrest of Jaymark Espayos, 22, of Barangay Akle, San Ildefonso. Espayos was tagged as the Top 3 MWP-City Level of Gapan City, Nueva Ecija police station for rape with no bail recommended.

Police said the other wanted felons were arrested by the tracker teams of the 1st and 2nd PMFC, Meycauayan City, City of San Jose Del Monte (CSJDM), San Rafael, Marilao, Bustos, Santa Maria, Dona Remedios Trinidad, and Plaridel police.

Meanwhile, an estimated P136,092 worth of illegal drugs was confiscated in a series of drug buy-bust operations conducted by the Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU) and Station Drug Enforcement Units (SDEU) of Obando, San Miguel, Plaridel, Pulilan, Marilao, Bocaue, Meycauayan City, Calumpit, City of San Jose Del Monte (CSJDM), Norzagaray, Malolos City and Angat police station that led to the arrest of the suspects. Recovered were 79 sachets of suspected shabu and 13 sachets of suspected marijuana.

The Meycauayan City police conducted a buy-bust operation in Barangay Iba that resulted in the recovery of 14 sachets of suspected shabu. A cal. 22 pistol loaded with three cartridges. A Cal.22 was also recovered from the arrested suspects identified as Jayson Calosor and Benjamin Resurreccion alias Jun.

A series of anti-illegal gambling operations was also conducted by the 1st PMFC, Baliwag, Balagtas, CSJDM, and Marilao police that resulted in the arrest of individuals who were caught in the act of engaging in illegal gambling activities, including the card bet game of "tong-its," "pusoy," and billiards "poker" bet game. 

Confiscated were sets of playing cards, billiards set, and bet money in different denominations.
